@SeaMaiden let us know what they say but even moreso, let us know if your packages still continue to stink, lol. I have never smoked but have been around alot of smokers and can smell a smoker from a mile away. I can't stand even being in a car or home where there are smokers. The smell of smoke permeates everything and can be nauseating to me. Even when I buy from Ebay I always make sure the items are from a non-smoking home.

I order often from Amazon but the deliveries always come in a white van with U-Trac on it. When I first started ordering from Amazon they only sold books and they would be delivered in private cars.

Regarding smoking - I also used to smoke and have a neighbor that smokes on her patio. A whiff of cigarette smoke does not bother me. In fact a couple of times when I was having a difficult time I thought of borrowing a cigarette from her - thankfully I didn't! I would hate to go though nicotine withdrawal again.

My mailman smokes my packages do not smell they are only in his car a few hours and the window is open most of the time.

@SeaMaiden, you'll get an apology e-mail & a $5 Amazon credit. I've never received packages that stunk of smoke, but I have had a package thrown over a 6 foot high privacy fence. The idiot driving the vehicle pulled into one of my parking spaces & just threw the package over fence, hitting my patio door. I e-mailed Amazon immediately, I was sent an apology e-mail & a $5 credit. Thank goodness the package wasn't heavy or had anything breakable in it. I haven't had any problems since that incident. Some of the drivers deliver at my patio door, but they get out of their vehicle & come into the yard, others dump the package by the front stoop, where it can't be seen because of bushes planted there.

@Bri36 I can't imagine the USPS allowing foot carriers to smoke while delivering mail. They must have some kind of wonderful job security! 😁

I was surprised myself, @magicmoodz. I've been outside and I can see him smoking. When we've stopped to talk, I can smell the smoke too.

My packages or my mail doesn't smell. I assume he only smokes while he's walking and not inside the truck.

I used to get my packages from Amazon by LaserShip but now that they have a contract with USPS that's all I get now. They are unreliable and have received packages days later that should have been delivered as a Prime member. I have complained but get no where. They deliver my packages to neighbors as well. I get my neighbors mail also.

I don't like the idea of people delivering packages from Amazon in their cars. I wouldn't open the door at all.
