@HappyDaze Do you know how I would direct the complaint?

He handed me my package and a waft of cigarette stench hit me in the face when he rolled down his window. The package also reeked of smoke. So bad that my hand smelled of cigarettes just from holding the package! I had to put the outer packaging right out into recycle to get it out of the house...and wash my hands.
I think think this is just awful. My packages should not smell that bad. Drivers who smoke should not smoke in their cars with their deliveries in the car . They should smoke outside the car. I almost want to email Amazon about it. Do you think they would care?
@SeaMaiden I once had a termite inspector come to my home, and after the inspection, he opened his mouth to speak and the unbelievable cigarette stench that was emitted made me gag, never smelled this from any other cigarette smoke I encountered back then, If I had needed work done, this guy would not have done it due to this.

@SeaMaiden I would go to Amazon's contact page and choose email then email them directly. I was trying to find some information as to whether or not you had to have a smoke free car to deliver Amazon packages but haven't found it yet. I really doubt Amazon would be okay with that.

Only ones I know that deliver out of their own vehicles is that Lasership and they are horrible!!!! Last time they threw my package out the passenger window into the middle of our driveway- I saw it with my own 4 eyes.. I was past furious!!! The package was something I'd ordered from UTsports.. and it was at 9:30 at night.. grrrrrrrrrrr
@SeaMaiden, I'd sure complain about their delivery.. being a former smoker, smoke stinks!!

I really wouldn't care for that myself.
@kelsey17 This kind of delivery has been going on for a long time where I live. Mostly on the auto ships I have.

@HappyDaze I emailed them about the issue. Let us see what comes of it.

@SeaMaiden I had no idea there were so many others like me who just can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. Thankfully I haven't received any packages like that, but my next door neightbors are both big time smokers (condo, so very close). They have two kids, so they won't smoke inside the condo........only outside on the patio where it wafts over to my place. It's so bad that I often have to close my windows in the summer, as it will fill my house as well as my patio.

I smoked 25 years ago....thank God I quit! I am so sensitive to the stench now, I can smell it from far away. Sorry you have to close your windows to stop the smell from coming into your home...ever thought about buying a huge fan to blow the smoke back their way?

I don't think Amazon can stop people from smoking inside their own cars. Maybe if enough people complain, they can do something about it.
@Bri36 I can't imagine the USPS allowing foot carriers to smoke while delivering mail. They must have some kind of wonderful job security! 😁

I've yet to have an Amazon order delivered by some guy in a car, thankfully. But I'm on the edge of a small city (like 250,000 to 300,000 pop) so I figure they probably mostly do this in larger cities.
But there is this one service that they've used a few times for my monthly auto-delivery. It goes through the main post office (not the one in my zip code) and delivers on Sundays.
Well, that would be ok except that I have a 30# bag of dog food in there, along with a few other household things, so it's at least a 32# parcel and they've delivered it to another house a couple of times. I have to call the husband to come bring it to the house because there is no way I can carry that much home.
I ended up calling Amazon on that one because I need to not have that keep happening. Last time was an elderly couple's house and there would be no way they could be expected to re-deliver it and I never would. I'd drive my car over there before that and just put it in the way-back of my car.
Amazon was really nice and said they would note the account but they don't have as much control over such things as we might think. Last month's AD came during the week to MY house. *whew*
