What is an Amazon  store card?

Then people should also be watching their Q Card, because both Amazon and QVC use Synchrony Bank.

I was also sent an Amazon card statement with a charge on it several years after my last purchase using it. I had paid it off and will never use it again, because it's Synchrony Bank.

I had paid a bill 8 days before the due date, electronically, that they said "arrived" one day "late." Which is B-you-know-what, because all bank transfers arrive well within usually 4 days max.

They socked me with all sorts of late payment fees. They told me that no matter when a payment is sent, they credit it "whenever." Presumably, they do that so they can make $$ on late fees - a common practice of financial institutions. I paid off the low balance and haven't used it since.

But about 2 years ago, I got a statement with a $35 charge. I was sure I hadn't used the card, but thought I might have hit a wrong button, so I paid it. The next month they sent me a refund check in the mail!

Synchrony Bank, no matter which large corporations they supply cards to, does not have a clue - except how to rip people off. Stay away from any card offered through them.

@sunshine45 They offer different cards. Mine was neither a Visa nor a Mastercard, it was the "Amazon Store Card" - like the old-fashioned dept store cards that aren't offered any more. Like the Q Card.

Re: Amazon Store card alertl

@millieshops. I signed up for Prime free 30 day trial a few times around the holidays to take advantage of the free shipping.

i cancelled before the 30 days were up and it was easy and no hassle.  I am surprised that Amazon allowed me to do this.... more than once. I did it a few years in a row.

On the final sign-up, I decided to keep it.

I have had an Amazon CC Card for maybe 10 years and it has always been issued through Chase.  I have another CC through Chase as well and as have never had a problem with them...ever.

i used to have a QVC CC, But it got cancelled and not by me.  I got a letter one day that said it was cancelled due to nonpayment.  I am sure it was cancelled in error, but the heck with it. I just left it cancelled..their loss, not mine, I don't really need it and it saves me money, because I buy much less.

My credit report does not show any negative activity from that card or it's cancellation.

@Katcat1  I make 2-3 Amazon purchases a week, don't have their credit card and have never had to choose it.  Perhaps your computer or whatever was unresponsive when you got to that point.  I had that happen yesterday on Evine.

Sure, Blame Amazon for your laziness. That's the American Way.

Good grief! The Amazon Store Card (whether it says Prime on it or not) is NOT a credit card. Note "Where you shop."

For the third time:

From the Amazon website:

"The store card is issued by a finance company....Sychrony Bank...they are a finance company...not a bank. The amazon credit card is issued by Chase Bank."

@sunshine45  I have an Amazon Visa card with Chase. And I have not seen this.  I am very careful and check my accounts daily online.  I am wondering what kind of Amazon card we are talking aboiut because mine seems safe... famous last words.
