I'm not sure if this has been discussed ,but I am going to throw this little tidbit out there. I was checking my past years statements and found, on each af them, a Security Card fee of nearly always $50 more or less. I never signed up KNOWINGLY for this fee to be added. It is an insurance policy for when you are unemployed or hurt and can't pay your bill. I never signed up for it !! I called the bank that issues the store card and she said that it is there and if you do not, on purpose, say or click no to it, it is an automatic thing.I have all my statements coming to  so I can check. She said---that my money will be reimbursed---now I'm not sure about that, but it should be done in 90 days. I had her cancel that fee today so should not be charged anymore. Please check your AMZ store credit cards for this---am a little more than ticked off about this--I have always been very happy with AMZ.

FYI everyone!!!

That's pretty sneaky of them.  I always got those solicitations from my credit cards, but I of course declined them.  I never knew they could just slap it on there like that, without your approval.  I buy a lot from Amazon, but I have a different card that I use, and I don't even carry a balance on it.

@wagirl  Thanks!  I go through mine every month and so far they didn't try it on me yet but I really appreciate the heads up.

Thank you for the warning, however, I do not think it is necessarily automatic.

I have an Amazon Store Card and have never been charged this fee.

I double checked to be sure.  Thank you.

I don't read the fine print as I should on these things---that is going to change in light of the recent hacks. I am very anxious to see if I REALLY get my money back--I opened my card in 12/2014----- that is alot of money to be refunded. And maybe that practice has changed since 2014. At any rate, I will check it out when I get the back statements. I don't think AMZ is a scam--you just have to be on your toes for the convience , I guess.

@wagirl.    I was on Amazon yesterday and had one item to check out.  I hit continue and the next step was selecting their credit card and I could not move forward without selecting it (I don't think so).  I closed that window and made my purchase on EBay.  Yes, very tricky.  It is a real turn off to keep seeing info. on their credit card.  Looks like they lost a customer.  Cat Mad

Maybe--Katcat---but will wait to see what they do about it. Customer service is a big thing to me and they have always come thru when Ive had a few issues with them. But I am aware now so that is half the battle.

@wagirl  I may be understanding this wrong.  Have you been charged $50 a month since 12/2014 and are just now noticing it?  Don't you check your statements each month?  You say that's a lot of money for them to credit you back.  It really is.  I'm amazed they will do it for almost three years.

edited to add:  millieshops corrected me.  I thought you meant the past year's statements when you actually meant the past years' statements and only getting charged once a year.  That makes much more sense.  I was confused.
