Amazon Shipping

[ Edited ]

What happened to fast delivery?  Yesterday I ordered two gifts for people out of town and the delivery dates were 12/27 to 1/9.  Both items were being shipped from Amazon.  I'm not a Prime member but this is a long time.  So much for buying Christmas gifts from Amazon.

@Biftu All of it depends on the vendor, this happens with some overseas vendors, I watch delivery dates before I order and I have been Prime for many years

I experienced that, too, and decided to drop my longtime Prime membership.

Amazon has had lay-offs potentially affecting 30,000, trying to streamline their operations.

They may have over-done it.   At the least, they haven't adjusted to the loss of positions.

I think some Amazon delivery areas have always had issues with timely deliveries.

I'm a Prime member and noticed the lengthy delivery times last week when I went to order some ribbon, all being fulfilled by Amazon. Most were estimating delivery at least ten days out.

Some of my Amazon orders are also taking longer than usual; the majority are items that are sold and shipped by Amazon.

I'm wondering if Amazon is renting space on their aircraft to UPS and FedEx while so many of their aircraft is grounded.  If so that would have some impact on Amazon getting products to their various distribution points.

@BiftuI'm a Prime member and seeing the same problem with orders for the past couple of weeks.  All items were shipped from Amazon.  The orders will state they arrived at the local hub, then out for delivery, and then "we're sorry, your order is delayed".  Then they update to "out for delivery" the next day, but the same thing happens again, a few times over.  I've cancelled a couple of orders after repeated delay notices.

They should have held off on layoffs during the busiest time of the year, not to mention it would have helped those workers that need their paychecks.
