I just got three calls in a row, saying it was Amazon, calling for authorization on a charge of $999 for an iPhone. Instructions are to press one number to authorize or another to deny. This is a scam. Amazon will never call you. Do not reply in any fashion, not even to deny the authorization. Just hang up.

@JeanLouiseFinch I heard about this one a few years ago. I am smarter than the crooks.
At one time there was a lot of news coverage warning people to NEVER press any key in a scam call because you have no idea what could happen.

These calls are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying. I get these all the time with a number of noted other scam calls for all sorts of stuff. It is amazing.
NO, the big "A" store will never call you just for fun. Just hang up, do not even entertain these robo calls.

There are scam Amazon websites as well...must be very careful these days when it feels like so many are out to hurt or annoy others. I no longer answer my phone unless it is a known person. Leave a message and I will either return a call or delete. Too many...Hello, this is Richard. I have important information about your....whatever! At 73 I do not want the nonsense.

Yeah, that's the same amount they told me was charged to my account. I always have to say something smart to the recording. Like, 'really? No way. I'll be darned. And I don't even have an Amazon account.' Just makes me feel better.

@JeanLouiseFinch I've gotten that call twice. The first time I was on vacation and it scared me. I called Amazon and they said it was not true. Now I ignore them and hang up. I get so many random and scam calls. If I get another call from someone wanting to buy my property I am going to sell it which won't be good because I rent. LOL

Best not to EVER reply to those calls. If you do, the scammer has just won. You will be put on the "live" list because you responded (they don't care what you say), your number will be sold as a Live line and the calls will increase. Don't support the scammers by responding.
