I took an Amazon return to the UPS store on last Thursday, the 23rd, and haven't gotten an email that it has arrived and my account hasn't been credited. Should I be concerned?

Did you kept your receipt?
I would call Amazon and find out.
I would be concerned.

Sometimes if the item you purchased from Amazon is from a third party, you'll usually have to wait until it gets to that third party's warehouse, than you will get your refund

I had a return to Amazon. They sent the wrong item. I received an email from Amazon the day after I shipped it back. A refund had already been issued. 

I had 2 other returns. I received credit back 1 week apart on those. Both were shipped back on the same day. 

Do you have the tracking number you can check?

Our UPS is 2 miles away and if we do an Amazon Return we usually get computer notice by the time we get home. Yes, I would be concerned.

If you have your UPS receipt I wouldn't be overly concerned. It has been my experience with Amazon returns that if you return unboxed, your item is grouped with other returns going to Amazon. Therefore, it takes longer to process since items have to be sorted before issuing credits. For this reason I always rebox return items myself and use the return label provided online. I would give it another week before being alarmed.

Yes, but it doesn't have a tracking number on it.

Most of the time when I return an item to Amazon I take it to the UPS store or Staples and I have an email in my inbox by the time I get home telling me that the refund has been issued.

It was in the origional box, the one it was sent in from Amazon.

In the past, I've gotten an email from Amazon the day after I've sent my return. Not getting an email this time is my reason for concern.

A lot of others with packages  were at UPS so that could a reason for the delay.
