Lately I found myself ordering a lot from Amazon. BUT I'm not one to add things onto my order just to qualify for free shipping. So grrrrr, here i am paying shipping costs. Then Friday I had occasion to need some of my vitamins. And I'm like....NO, I'm not paying shipping for one bottle of vitamins. That is when i decided to try Prime.
Fast forward to today. I needed a doormat for my basement. I went on QVC and ordered one of Don Asletts' mats. Then I started thinking. Wait...I'm paying shipping on QVC. Let me look for a doormat on Amazon and i don't have to pay shipping. Lo and behold I found TWO doormats for the same price i was paying for ONE on QVC...and no shipping costs! .So Prime does pay for itself in my opinion.

Have used Prime since the beginning. Always filter by prime and animal charity donations.
If I don't NEED what I order right away I still use Prime and opt for the 1$ credit to my account. Purchase many kindle books, and the $s add up.
A happy Prime shopper.

I'm not a Prime member and on the rare occasion that I want to order on Amazon, I have a difficult time trying to find something for me to order, it seems that about 90% of all their items are for Prime members only.
We get incentives at work, most are Amazon gift cards. A couple of years ago, I had no problem finding items but now it's not even worth my time to look. I know right now I probably have over $100 in gift cards I probably won't use.
I write this to say, for Prime members, you should never have a problem finding items.

@chrystaltree wrote:I love Prime and now I am enjoying Prime Now, which delivers within a 2 hours. Yesterday I ordered some things for the dinner I was making and the Amazon driver arrived in an hour. I buy everything with Prime form skincare to clothing to groceries to office supplies and electronics . With Prime you also get a vast assortment of music and movies and tv programs. You can store your photos in the cloud. Amazon Prime is sooooo much more than free shipping and 48 hour delivery. Honestly, I don't see a negative to Prime unless you don't actually shop with Amazon and don't want movies or listen to music. Then it wouldn't be worth the $99.
@chrystaltree Just curious...do you feel obligated to tip the Amazon food delivery guy?

I've been a Prime member for quite a while..it's $110 per year (I think the 1st year I joined it was like $79) I purchase a fair number of items and they arrive within a couple of days; however, Amazon opened up the Prime to marketplace sellers (independent sellers, not Amazon) and I have had a couple of orders state 2 day shipping, but it's 2 days from when the seller ships...and it may take them a few days to actually ship it.
I really use Prime more for the movies and tv shows than the shopping. I might use the photo storage too. There are more benefits to it than just the shipping/shopping

I would like your feelings on joining Amazon Prime for 99 dollars a year. Do you find in order to benefit from it you have to order a lot... or do they make rules to conform to in order to get the 2 day free shipping hard to meet? I have heard pros and cons.
I order pretty regular... could order more. Just not sure where to draw the line between meeting the quota to get free REGULAR SHIPPING 5 TO 7 days ( $40.00 purchase minimum or so?) or paying for the PRIME and meeting the regulations for using that each time to get the free 2nd day air
What kind of things do not apply to the PRIME on orders you place? . How often do you come across things that you order that do not meet the regulations to use PRIME?
I could order nothing and still love Amazon Prime! I would not get it for the free 2 day shipping myself. Before I had Prime I just accumulated things in my cart until there was enough to qualify for free shipping.
Not having to wait is a nice perk but my main reason for getting Amazon Prime was the free TV/movies included. I cut cable a few years before I got Prime and it really gave me a world of options I never had before.
Most things I order are covered by Prime. A few aren't but offer free shipping - just not in two days. I very rarely pay shipping on anything. At least, I probably have but I can't think of what the item was. I do know that, if I did pay shipping, it wasn't much.

I love Amazon Prime and have suspbacribed for a couple of years or so. Free shipping alone on lots of items is worth it for me as I order a ton of stuff from them.

@SeaMaiden We have had prime for years and I wouldn't be without it. I really don't care about the two day delivery if I can get free shipping. I now order through Ebates and it's even better !!

I just signed up. I always get my packages so quick with Amazon because there are two warehouses within a couple hours. I wasn't sure if I needed it. I signed up for the 10.99 monthly instead of the $99 for the year. Then I can cancel if I don't feel like I have ordered enough. I order a lot from them and don't think last year I had $99 in shipping. Because I had ordered usually a lot at one time and got free shipping. But this month the 10.99 has already paid for itself. It's nice since you can order just one thing instead of worrying about a big order to get free shipping.
