I won't be renewing my membership after it expires in April.

Mine is due soon too and I don't think I'll renew. I may have used it twice.

If you are paying $80.00 a year, I don't consider that to be free shipping. You are just paying shipping all up front and that may or may not work out for you. For me, it's not worth it. Anything over $35.00 already qualifies for free shipping and anything ordered through a third party vendor doesn't qualify under Prime.

I didn't even order 10 items last year from Amazon so had I paid the money for Prime, my "free" shipping really cost me at least $8.00 per item. But some of my items were over $35.00 anyhow.

That is how I see it too. It is about the cost of shipping, really just being paid up front. I don't give a hoot about the other things that come with prime, like the movies/TV stuff. I just hold off until I need enough to make the $35 limit and order then.

Our membership just expired in January. They automatically renewed us and it went up $10.

I am perfectly satisfied.

Prime is a good deal for me. I use their streaming service a lot. Netflix is $7.99 a month for streaming which would be $95.88 a year for just streaming video if I didn't use Prime. I also get free shipping and now they've added free "Kindle First" books where Prime members who also have a Kindle can get a free book each month before they're released to the general public. A book to own each month, a book rental each month, two day shipping on most things I order, lots of streaming videos to pick from, all for under $7 a month? That's pretty hard to beat. Show me another company that comes even close to that. Prime's one of the best bargains out there. Even if they raise it $40 it would still be a bargain.
