Amazon Fresh (grocery delivery by Amazon)

[ Edited ]

Does anyone use Amazon Fresh?  It's Amazon's grocery delivery system.  We been using it since last February.  It's my weekly grocery shopping.  My husband tried it first.  Back then it was a free trial for 4 orders.  Then a charge of $14.99 per month.  Now it's changed.  It for free now.  I select the food.  It has pretty wide grocery selection (and adding more and more food)  It totals the amount and you can select the tip.  It's anywhere form $1.00 up to $7.00.  It has nothing to do with how much food you order.  Just up to you to decide the tip.  I'm really impressed how the food is bagged.  All the bags are insulated with (free) frozen bottles of water.  We have it ordered in hot weather and cold.  We have never had any spoilage or given the wrong item.  You select the day and time you want your food  delivered.  I do it once a week.  I keep my food queue up, adding things if I start to need them.  You can order it for delivery that same day or any day in advance.  Not just food, but paper towels, detergent, etc.  They are all name brands.  Price wise they are lower then the supermarket.  It's a similar system to how some supermarkets such as Giant, etc which has a delivery called Pea Pod)   The service has expanded to several thousand cities and towns.  After each delivery, they ask you via email how the delivery was.

Interesting.  We recently moved to a new state and we really miss imperfect produce.  Do you get meats?  I have auto ship of many non perishables already.

It's expanding everyday.  Technically it's only been up and running since early this year.  You put in your zip code to see if they can deliver.  We tried it on a flue, and we loved it.  So we kept it.  Its been very successful and Amazon wants it to be operating in every state.

Re: Amazon Fresh (grocery delivery by Amazon)

Thank you for posting this. I am getting ready for another surgery in a few weeks and I am totally alone. I will be unable to drive for quite some time. I checked out Amazon Fresh just the other day and it looked as if it would work for me. Yes, I understand those who say they want to do their own shopping. However, for someone who is ill, this seems like a viable option.  But I did not know anyone who had used it.

Everything you local supermarket has, you can get it from Amazon.  Meats, produce, fresh or frozen, eggs, butter, etc.  Every kind of food.  It operates as a supermarket.

@songbird Thanks for the info!  I will check it out!  We have Whole Foods and I would imagine that is where the groceries would come from.
