I don't really understand why amazon felt the need to produce their own phone? Everyone and their mother and grandmother has a phone already. So they would have to replace their phone with this phone. I guess if it were time for upgrade, this could be an option as a replacement phone. But, why not replace with better technology from Apple or Samsung? Also, they say this is designed for those who want to read on their phone...have you ever tried to read a book on your phone, lol. This amazon phone screen is no larger than the existing phones on the market, and it's not as large as the phone Samsung current has available. So all this said, I just don't get why they felt the need to produce a phone. What customer are the looking for, and how will they make money from this?

I don't have a smart phone, as my cell phone needs are pretty basic, but I'll look at the specs and read the reviews. There will be a lot of reviews right out of the gate, just like the new Amazon streaming box. So, at least, you can get an idea of how great, or not great, it is.

I guess I'm their target. My iphone 4S is over 2 years old and I'm up for renewal, so I'd like to try a different brand. The video on Amazon looks very interesting. I'll check out the plans and see if it's a better deal.
