However, I am grateful that I even have an apt. and have not lost my home to fire as many people have. There is always someone worse off than many of us, so count your blessings.

Not being snarky or anything...would maybe a cool bath and/or a bubble bath help?

@GoneButNotForgotten ....I take two cool showers every day due to the heat.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.

Well that confirmed it then this is a good place to be, if you were slapped silly in person you would not like that!  Neither would I.

I guess it is a lesson learned. Some people just do not like some hosts who are gone. For awhile the boards were full of news about the host you mentioned and many became just annoyed with any comments said.

Shrug it off if you can and go forward.

I am so sorry. I knew from other posts I've seen of yours (and of course, your nickname 😁) that you have goldens. I did not know that you had lost one, though. I lost my yellow lab last year and miss him so much. If you do facebook, there is a girl that posts videos nearly everyday of her 2 golden creams that are so cute and funny. She adds captions as if the dogs are talking. It's called Charlie The Golden. You should watch some of those videos. I love them!💓💓💓💓

I am so sad for you that you lost your dog.  I guess that's the one in the picture.  I, too, thought you had another one.  If so, then I'm sure that doggy is missing Spirit.

Please consider this, there is a dog, lonelier than you, in a cage, doesn't even understand that you could come along and erase it's miserable existance.  But you could.

It may even be a golden, or a golden mix.

Look online, drive to the shelter, you will know because it will be love at first sight.

You can even name it after me.Woman Happy  Because it will be very lucky to have you.

This is what I did after losing my yellow lab last year. It took me about 6 months, but, one day I saw a picture on Facebook of a dog that was in a city shelter near me (and it was a kill shelter). The person who posted it said" please, someone. He has been here so long and is running out of time". In the picture he was laying on a blue blanket in a cage. My heart broke. I could not get him off of my mind. I went to see him and he was so pitiful. He had been almost starved when someone had found him and brought him to the shelter and he was still quite thin. He was just a big black mixed breed dog - mostly lab, and I could not walk away and leave him. He's had some health problems, but He is such a sweetheart and a beautiful dog now.IMG_20200610_191807.jpg

@goldensrbest  I have the deer and Cricket, of course...oh, and PapaWick.

Did I read on another post that you are in Maine?  Our youngest is in the Portland area.  For retirement, it was between him in Maine and his brother in Texas.  His brother drew the short straw.  We do love Maine though.

@Sapphiregal   Thank you so much for choosing to rescue that lovely black fella'.  There is a special place in heaven for rescue animals and those who give them a second chance to be loved.
