It depends on your facial features, skin tone and ... how your hair grows out.
Not every woman looks good with gray hair ..... and not all gray hair looks good! ![]()

One is not better than the other. It's how it makes you feel inside. For me, it is a freeing experience and I just like the way it makes me feel.
Just as a matter of fact - 75 is not a baby boomer - baby boomers were born between 1947 and 1964. Ali McGraw was born on 1939 - before WW11.
My DH was born during ww11 and he is not considered a baby boomer.

Certainly not all grey hair is pretty but on the other hand - not all dyed hair is pretty either.

A softer chignon would look better. The color of her make-up does not coordinate well with her hair color.
I've seen her on talk shows and entertainment shows. She's had face work, from a competent plastic surgery.
I never thought she was a good actress.

Your husband was what they called "war babies".
1939 was WW2:

I've hit on a color system that works for me. My natural color is a very dark brown. Almost black. But I have the hairdresser color me several shades lighter than my natural (I hate when hair dyed for us dark haired people looks like shoe polish). Anyway, the gray ends up looking like blonde highlights then. I have to re-do it about every 8 -10 weeks.

The Empire of Japan aimed to dominate Asia and the Pacific and was already at war with the Republic of China in 1937, but the world war is generally said to have begun on 1 September 1939 with the invasion of Poland by Germany and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by France and the United Kingdom. Wiki quote.
The USA did not enter WW11 until Dec 7, 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. However, for a couple years previous to that young men were getting drafted just in case, so few babies were being born.
