She looks great! I think, for a lot of the older baby boomers, letting our hair go gray IS "making a statement" just as much as coloring your hair makes a statement. One is not better than the other. It's how it makes you feel inside. For me, it is a freeing experience and I just like the way it makes me feel.

Just as a matter of fact - 75 is not a baby boomer - baby boomers were born between 1947 and 1964. Ali McGraw was born on 1939 - before WW11.

My DH was born during ww11 and he is not considered a baby boomer.

Your husband was what they called "war babies".

1939 was WW2:

1 September 1939

  • The Empire of Japan aimed to dominate Asia and the Pacific and was already at war with the Republic of China in 1937, but the world war is generally said to have begun on 1 September 1939 with the invasion of Poland by Germany and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by France and the United Kingdom.
  • Wiki quote.

The USA did not enter WW11 until Dec 7, 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. However, for a couple years previous to that young men were getting drafted just in case, so few babies were being born.

I know when the USA entered it, but it was considered the start of WW2 before that. FDR was hesitant to join, apparently only because he didn't think US citizens would agree.

I know about the War Babies moniker because I have a cousin born at that time and the family would refer to him as a "war baby."

Oh good grief enough with the googling already!

It's obvious to me that she's had work done on her face, but only because I saw pictures of her not too long ago that showed her true skin and features. Well, also because there is no 75-year-old who has such a smooth, wrinkle-free face naturally!

I don't know why, but she vaguely reminds me of the grandmother on The Waltons with her current look...must be the angle of her face in that particular shot or the pulled-back hair.

Not sure what an "Equestrian", or "Hamptons" look is supposed to be, but she looks nice for an elderly woman.

That's true Smile Especially the one starring here and on another line she followed me to with her usual attack.

What age do you think qualifies as elderly?

Wow {#emotions_dlg.scared} Mid, even. I'd definitely say 80 was elderly. I'd probably say 75 qualifies. But, then again, what does elderly even mean?
