@Greeneyedlady21.  The person who resigned was a previous special prosecutor who. I believed resigned before the trial started so they hired a second person.  The DA's office couldn't even try their own case but had to hire special people.

Any time I've been aware of the appointment of a Special Prosecutor it has nothing to do with the competency of a District Attorney's office. They are appointed to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest.

I actually commend Alec and his family for their reaction in the courtroom. I was imagining how I would react if it had been me and the first thing that came to my mind was me doing David's happy dance shouting woot woot! Upon reflection I can see how that would be highly improper. Tears of relief and joy on the other hand seemed very appropriate.

Baldwin was charged because his actions fit the specific elements of the crime under the state's law.

There are some crimes where, depending on one's occupation, exceptions are made to very specific crimes under very specific circumstances. This was not one of those crimes or one of those circumstances.

It will be interesting to see if today's  decision affects Hanna Gutierrez's (the armorer) conviction, which she has appealed.

Good. I have always thought it was a vendetta against Baldwin with nothing substantial to back it up. I got my wish- the trial was over quickly.

I have a feeling Alec Baldwin will have the best sleep of his life tonight.

TBH, I've not delved that deep into this case, but just curious--who do you think is responsible for Halyna Hutchins' tragic death?  Just the gun armourer?

I think it was a terrible accident.

I didn't follow the armorer's trial, but a jury found her liable, so I'm assuming she was.

Re: Alex Baldwin Case

The guy still killed a person whether or not the case was dropped.  I don't see how he can sleep at night.

@Kachina624  good he should of never of been put on trial in the first place, obviously someone was out to get the woman that was killed and more than likely that person is already in jail, just a poor hit gone wrong- now everyone should just move on for the woman that died and remember the things and accomplishments she left instead of trying to find a scapegoat - I do not believe this has hurt New Mexico, it is a beautiful state with lots to do

@arizona babe

"A hit gone wrong"? Seriously?

Sounds like Alex dodged a bullet.
