In this day and age, much safer to have imitation/faux guns.

With all of the technical advances, easy to pretend it's a real gun.

Sound effects, smoke, etc., etc.

No need to have real guns on any set.

Somebody pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger. There may be more than one person guilty of this accident. Just b/c it's an accident, does not mean everybody is innocent. Someone died.

Exactly. The charge is involuntary manslaughter. He didn't mean to kill her but he did. It was not intentional.

Seriously, if producers and film owners begin to use faux / imitation guns and special effects, I do believe it would be a step in the right direction.

It could be a new trend that others will follow.

"'Step by step' to safety'" could be a new motto.
