Advice needed for modem/router for Time Warner. Please

[ Edited ]

I am looking for advice on a modem/router to purchase for Time Warner Internet and cable. For Internet speed up to 100 mbps.

I have looked on their website and what they have listed does not have great reviews when I have shopped different sites to compare.

Please and thank you for your suggestions.

My son bought the combo version from Costco and works fine. TW has a list of brands you can buy.

Several years ago, I purchased the ARRIS Surfboard SB6141 (up to 343 mbps). It was one of the ones that I found on the TWC website. I checked out the reviews on several of their compatible modems, and chose this one. After doing a price comparison, I think that I found it at a low price at Target. I do remember that the TWC had steps to install it, but I, also, needed to call their CS rep.

i have a netgear 1750.....one of the strongest you can buy because i live in a rancher and we have 4-5 people using the internet all at once.....and some of the users are streaming. i also have a range extender plugged into an outlet in the middle of the house.

i purchased mine at best buy. they pretty much know which router/modems are compatible with your internet provider.

I just rent from TWC.  I would like to buy one and just have not because of the installation. We also have phone with them. I did not know about range extenders. I need one as I cannot get wi fi in the bedroom. Thanks for the clue about that.
