This is something I would have never bought for myself but I was in the hospital about a month ago for 4 days and my daughter brought me one when she came to visit me one along with really nice colored pencils. I really liked it and colored 2 of the pictures. They were very intricate and it came out great. It certainly gave me something to do too.

I just received one of these as a gift.  It's a beautiful book entitled, Enchanted Forest.  I get into a zone while coloring and find it relaxing.

Are you ordering any? I'm thinking about ordering a set for myself and maybe another set to keep on hand for gifts or donations.

I also received a coloring book and colored pencils from a dear friend for my birthday--at first I was kind of taken aback. I have now realized what a thoughtful and lovely gift it really was. My best friend had major surgery and will be starting chemotherapy so I have decided to send her a coloring book, crayons, and colored pencils to hopefully help take her mind off of everything she is going through.

What I'm really into right now are the stained glass coloring books where the pages are printed on transparent paper.  I've always needed something to put on my sliders in the kitchen to keep the birds from doing body-slams into the glass.  I'm going to do several of these, laminate them, and affix them to my slider.  The do really come out looking like stained glass!  (I prefer using brush tip permanent markets for these.)  Did I already say that I love coloring????

Just an FYI for coloring ideas.

I Googled my coloring book and looked at Images.  It's amazing to see what other people have created - the artistry and creativity.  It makes mine look like kindergarten - Lol.  Anyway, I got some ideas from looking at that because I'm not very artistic.  For those interested you might want to Google the name of your coloring book and look under images to see what others have done.  I completed a picture overnight and found one online this morning.  It was fun to see what someone else did with the same picture.

I have been coloring for a little while now. Recently due to external circumstances, I was in a very bad mood. Lo and behold a couple of days later, 2 new coloring books arrived at my doorstep containing swear words embellished with flowers and little animals to color. I burst out laughing! DH knows me so well!!!

I'm glad I opened this thread. I'm having surgery soon and will be recuperating for 6 weeks this sounds like it would be a fun way to fill my time. I've always enjoyed coloring as a child and with my son. Thanks op!
