It's funny that I saw this thread now. Just last week, a co-worker and I went to a nearby dollar store on our lunch hour, to pick up a few things, and she stopped at the section where they sold books. I saw her pick up a coloring book and was flipping through the pages and I said, "What's that?". She told me it was an adult coloring book and I was shocked! I didn't know such a thing existed. She admitted that she colored and that was the first time I ever heard of an adult coloring! I'm not knocking it, I'm sure some people find it enjoyable and relaxing. I was just surprised!

I'll buy a coloring book when my mind turns to mush.  I didn't like them when I was 5 either.

Hi Rena, if you have a iPad or smartphone you can download color apps my favorite one is called colorfy it's free to get but after you color the first pages to get new ones you have to pay.  I tried it  and enjoyed it so much that I brought a subscription you can also see other people's work and be inspired.  For me it is a stress reliever.

I'm glad I opened this thread. I'm having surgery soon and will be recuperating for 6 weeks this sounds like it would be a fun way to fill my time. I've always enjoyed coloring as a child and with my son. Thanks op!

And I'll click on and insert myself into a thread just to be rude when my brain turns to mush.

I'm like a lot of you as far as the very intricate designs.  I find them overwhelming.  I don't enjoy it.

I like say a hot air balloon with designs, but not the entire page over and over.

These things (some of them are crazy with all that's going on).  I take one look and put the thing down.

My sister in Law does them so I tried it and am now addicted.  Last year QVC ofered a two book set from Color Sensations.  They came with pencils. Last I saw they were on wait list. If you put Color Sensations in the search bar you may find them and order.  I also get books from catalogs and stores. It's a fun creative calming hobby. I use Crayola's Twistable Markers and crayons and I get good results. I like doing Mandala type designs that way i can alternate colors and not get bored.

sue bee, do the markers bleed through and even though I just started I would find it hard to use markers because of the such small lines. I will check out what the q has in pencils....thanks!
