I'm glad I opened this thread. I'm having surgery soon and will be recuperating for 6 weeks this sounds like it would be a fun way to fill my time. I've always enjoyed coloring as a child and with my son. Thanks op!

I wish I would have had them when I had my knee surgeries and had to spend hours sitting with it elevated and on ice.

I'm having a tumor removed that's on my carotid artery.

I hope your feeling better since your surgery.

I did it now I'm hooked. My DH and I went to JoAnne's I got two books. One Sea Life, I llove the ocean and Stress Less flower pattern. I did get some colored pencils and a good sharpener but think I'll get a better set with more colors.

Thanks again Heart

Was recently watching one of those crafty programs (Maybe 'Deals' on LWN).......Anyway, they showed a technique using a tiny, tiny bit of baby oil on a Q-tip, blending the colors after you have colored with colored pencils.  I'd make sure that the designs are on only one side of each page, though.  Just in case the baby oil bleeds through.  Practice on computer paper first, just to have an idea of whether it works and/or you like the results.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I am enjoying coloring in the adult coloring books.  I wish I had lots of pretty colors to choose from instead of just 12.  I saw some in Texas for $25 and they were beautiful colors.........I should have got them.  I also want silver and gold.  Maybe I can find some at Walmart or Hobby Lobby.  I think it helps with stress and takes your mind off things that bother me.  I have done several and two I just love the others looks like really a child coloring.  Stay fabulous..........

Just a suggestion but Crayola has pencils with more variety. Good wood and good lead.

I ordered the ttv coloring books on Evine and then ordered 157 set of Crayola crayons from Amazon which was pretty cheap for 12..00.  Also, they had the pencils really cheap and ordered those too along with another coloring book of just cats.  I love coloring and that would keep me busy and take my mind off of stress from working.  Looking forward to getting these.

Hello!  I too received a coloring book with pencils (each page had a strange-looking cat image that was quite odd)...mainly because I'm a cat lover I presume.  Well, I begrudgingly opened up the book and got out the pencils and got starated.  After a whiled, it did become enjoyable.  However, the pencils hurt my hands so I purchased some rather inexpensive markers and wow, did the fun begin.  I haven't stopped yet (except when my hands need a break)!

The whole coloring book thing is funny (not ha ha) but ironic. Back in the 90's I would color. I thought it was relaxing and enjoyable. I was mocked by many for this. I guess everything old is new again.

They've been around for a few years now.  Maybe 2 or 3 years ago I bought some at Michaels Arts and Crafts.

Like everything in my life I quickly lost interest.  My problem is that the pencils are too hard (the lead is).

I have bought expensive pencils so I know it's not the quality of them, they just are too hard for what I want to do.

Felt pens don't work as well.
