I contribute to some vets organizations that send them - I use them, I'm glad to show off my patriotism.

It's not a question of not using them or not being willing to associate with various groups, it's about donating to various charities and getting back more address labels than one could ever use.

I shred the extras. They shred fine since they're still attached to the paper backing.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

It's a shame they keep spending the money to produce and mail these labels. That could go toward the cause instead.

Unless they are ugly (some sure are, IMO) or have an error on them, I just put them in my 'address labels' file folder. Assuming I never move (and I plan to die here in this house!), I have a lifetime supply.

Now days you don't mail nearly as much stuff, what with paying bills online and the like. So, for the 3 greeting cards a year I send my father and a miscellaneous thing here and there, I just cannot use that many.

I should say that I really hardly ever get these anymore, so I'm glad it seems to have died down. What is rather irksome about it is that 99% of the ones I've gotten are from companies with which I've NEVER done business. Everybody on the planet shouldn't be able to put our personal information in their databases. Yeah, I do get that that would be a losing battle, so I choose to just let that one go by.

It would take 3 lifetimes to use all the labels we have. I keep some and toss the others.

Exactly!

I've shredded ours without any problems. All but one set has arrived unsolicited from organizations; that's the only set I have kept over the years.

I see no need to shred the labels. Everyone's name and address is easily found on the internet. The only things I shred are bills, personal papers and credit offers. They don't need your labels they can just hack Target and get a lot of information.

I shred them instead of throwing them away because we take our shredded paper to the recycling center and recycle it instead of just throwing it in the trash. We shred most of our paper that's clean. No used napkins or anything along those lines.

I wish I would receive some labels......I have used all that I have......when I received them I always sent in a contribution.....mine were usually from the Disabled Veterans. Hate having to write my return address all the time. I am thinking of purchasing some new labels.

ArtisticLabels.com - Artistic Address Labels

ShowMe,

I buy labels from this site and they are very good. 7.95 for 250 or 10.95 for 500 (I get these ) They last forever and well worth the money. Mine are a roll on a dispenser, I buy the Gold Foil Bold script and I like them.

Ladies,

I get labels from the insurance companies, charities and more. I put them in between another piece of paper I am shredding and they shred fine and don't stick on the shredder.

You can make your own labels with your computer and a printer. You just buy a pack of blank labels at staples. If you need instructions let me know.
