Here's a more recent article for you which shows the movement still going on in 2014. I'm sure it's still active now.

I do not feel safer. I feel more like a sitting duck.
And being in your car isn't exactly safe either. In just a few weeks, I had one truck lose an entire load of stuff as he was driving towards me 'causing me to swerve, THREE other drivers swerved over into my lane. Literally IN MY LANE to the point where I was almost ran off the road. Pretty sure head on collisions can kill.
If you think too much ab out it, anywhere, anytime, any situation can be dangerous.

@RainyDayGal Tell me about it! I practice very, VERY defensive driving these days!

My local news just reported the shooting/suicide possibly occurred because a "relationship between a professor and student" went wrong.

My guess is the student wasn't happy with his grades. Just a guess, but it was my first thought when I heard murder-suicide and they are taking finals next week I think.

I thought this also. If I remember right there was another instance several years ago when a student killed his professor over failing grades. If that was the case it's terrible the student felt he had to go to such an extreme. I wonder if he sought help on campus.

A gun-free zone. How absurd.
Why not just declare it a "crime-free" zone.
I'm sure that would take care of the problem.....LOL.

Is it absurd that you need to go through metal detectors at courthouses and before getting on an airplane? Or should carrying be allowed anywhere?
