This a.m. my water aerobics class restarted.  All safety measures in place - separate individual changing stations, sanitizers, etc.

 It was just great.  Only 6 in pool  - 3 in shallow 3 in deep end then rotate -  wonderful to get back to  some normalcy, see some old friends, laugh, exercise you do not realize how much you missed just feeling alive again!

@dulwich   Good for you!   We just went green on Friday.  I’m hoping to get some sort of normalcy back.   I just miss my routine.

It’s a start.  Glad you enjoyed your class!  Have fun.

@dulwich  that sounds so nice.  Pools are still closed here. They are trying to figure out if swimmers are at risk if someone sheds the virus in the water.  I don’t think they are sure if chlorine kills it.

Dulwich,

I am green with envy that your status is green.  How I yearn to return to some semblance of normalcy, but it will be quite a while yet for us in Northern Virginia.

Thank you for reaffirming how delicious the feeling will be if we ever get there again.

@dulwich

Great news ... our water aerobics were cancelled until further notice.

But, our pool has been open to residents only with strict sanitizing measures.  I have been so thankful to have a "escape" for 69 days instead of the 4 walls of my house.

I don't think at anytime there were more than 2 of us there.  Of course, now we are completely open but pool restrictions stay the same thru August 1.

Our community has not had any cases.

Re: Absolute Bliss!

@dulwich - that sounds wonderful!

Our stay-at-home order in Michigan was lifted quite unexpectedly on June 1st, and re-opening plans have been rolling along somewhat fast and furious.

While the indoor pool at my Y can't open yet, my strength training group will be getting back together outdoors on Monday and I can't wait!  The heaviest weights I have at home are 20 lb dumb bells and I've lost a LOT since March.

Even more exciting, my hair salon re-opens on June 15th. By the time I get in for my appointment on the 25th, I'll have been growing my hideous gray roots for 120 days and that's just something that no one wants to see!

Our condo association is considering whether to open the pool.  Not knowing whether chlorine really kills the virus, I suppose residents who want to use the pool will have to sign a waiver of liability.  And no invited guests allowed.

at our place in delaware, pools can be open at 30% capacity. that began on memorial day weekend. they are closed every two hours for 15 minutes to sanitize.

on june 15th, they will be allowed to have occupancy at a 60% capacity.
