OK, I am really annoyed with two of the hosts who feel compelled to expound on their social/spiritual/new age beliefs about how we should live. It's one thing to express your beliefs, it's another to inform your audience  about how they should be thinking. Especially when they do it in super syrupy voices! Just sell me the stuff, ladies!!! It is not your job to "educate" me.  And yes, I change the channel when they start with the c**p.

@furbabylover

I haven't watched QVC in probably 10 years so I haven't seen what you are talking about but I'm with you.   I wouldn't like that either and would change the channel so fast.   I don't even like to hear 'thoughts and prayers' so that would be a big NO for me.

@furbabylover I absolutely get what you are saying.  It's everywhere--being told how to think and how to feel about this situation.  My financial company has been bombarding me with their input recently--and my thought is that their duty is to be a far and upright company, treat their people right and watch my funds!  They have seemingly forgotten they are supposed to be managing what money I have.

I get it from most companies I do business with.  I get it from all the local tv stations, pizza ads, etc. etc.

 It is getting really really old!

The sales pitch for the Saint/Hero bracelets drives me straight to the remote. Enough said.

Some customers like the Saint/Hero items.  In fact we had a thread recently asking if they would be back.

Yes, turn the channel.  Just as I would for snow removal items.  LOL

Not sure what qualifies as a "syrupy" voice but the Q can sell as it sees fit.

The Q sells diverse items and religious items are part of a diverse inventory.

Y'all have choices and so do those who like those items.

Let it be.

@furbabylover @Without giving away who said these things; could you give a example of one or two social/spiritual/new age beliefs.

Ok, things like this were said in a very low-toned, church-worthy voice:

"We all know that the spirits that be are here to protect us and guide us".

"Our Karma will be improved if we take care of our bodies".

"Our hearts are enriched by embracing the injustices of the world".

Those are a few. One of the vendors of perfume even went so far as to insist that we all contribute to the "Cause". The host responded with "of course we should".

This is the stuff that just irks me no end.
