ANY SPECIAL IDEAS FOR SNOW DAYS?

NC and surrounding areas expecting 6"-9" of snow tonite & tomorrow. Quite a storm for here. Grocery shelves cleared off yesterday morning, but before I stocked up on essentials like wine & whatever I can cook on gas grill.

My list of "to dos":

1. I have ingredients for a big pot of chili tonite.

2. Great time to clean out closets & drawers.

3. Baking Banana Breads for freezer

4. Finishing some special order jewelry pieces in studio

5. Watching a list of must see movies on Apple TV

6. Oh. Shoveling a path for my beagles to go potty (guess that should be # 1)

7. Finish reading PURPOSE OF DOGS before movie comes out

8. Pray TV/power stays on

9. Have spa time: try new makeup looks, mani/pedi & do a facial

10. Plan a nap in afternoons for sure!!!

Re: ANY SPECIAL IDEAS FOR SNOW DAYS?

We hardly ever get snow around Atlanta so I plan on being a kid again and hopefully getting enough for a snowman and a snowball fight.

I have a steep driveway too so I'll be shoveling that so we don't have an ice rink since our temps aren't supposed to warm until Tuesday.  I also don't want the kids on it.  People don't know not to sled into the street around here.

Re: ANY SPECIAL IDEAS FOR SNOW DAYS?

It's -6 windchill here in So. Indiana and snow on the ground.  I so want something sweet to eat but don't want to go clear my car off to go to the store!  A yummy donut sounds so good!  But I will stay inside and try to stay warm (my house is so cold - it is about 57 in here right now).  I've pretty much cleaned all my hall closets and have a pile of stuff to go to Goodwill when things thaw out.  The worst is that I can't get the dogs out for a walk and they get antsy.

Good luck to you in North Carolina!  Six to nine inches is a lot for anyone but especially down South where you don't have the equipment to deal with it.  Good ideas to bake (at least it'll be warm in the kitchen!) and nap!

Well I'm taking dh to the dr, snow isn't stopping that. Then I have to take the kid to work later. It's just a same old same old day here.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I need to "weed out" my closet. It's a good day to start because it's FIVE BELOW right now!

Re: ANY SPECIAL IDEAS FOR SNOW DAYS?

Here in southern WV, teacher daughter got her first snow day, so it's an official pajama day in our house.

I'm doing laundry and while putting it away, I'm straightening dresser drawers, as well as the linen closet.   Have cleaned a dusty ceiling fan.   Mopped the floor in both bathrooms.   Checked on my mom, and figured out what to cook for supper.   Opened the 2 boxes of after Christmas stuff I ordered, and put that away.   Figure I've done enough for today.

Re: ANY SPECIAL IDEAS FOR SNOW DAYS?

We had a little storm the other day but I don't seem to be getting a lot done.  oops!  Smiley Happy   Only got 8" or so at my house, but they are measuring it by the foot up in the mountains, so I'm glad for them.

I love the snow and hope we get some more.  Yeah, maybe a couple more days of it and I'll get something done.   Smiley Wink

It's been staying in the low to mid 20s here the last few days, so my heat is running half the time.   I try not to think about that too much.

Re: ANY SPECIAL IDEAS FOR SNOW DAYS?

Shanus, all of your ideas sound wonderful except for one thing....you forgot to mention parking yourself in front of a heat source (hopefully a crackling fire) in a fluffy robe while wearing warm slippers-such as Uggs- and sipping something hot and dreamy while you finish your book.....

I loved spending my days like that when we lived in the Midwest, and then the East Coast.

I really do miss watching snow falling...but I do not miss the ice!
