The problem with southern states getting snow is they do not have the equipment to clear the streets, etc.  Make sure you have plenty of bottled water, batteries for flashlights in case the power goes out.  And, of course, canned fruit and other food that does not need to be heated up.  Plenty of blankets and some good books.

We bake, binge watch movies, board games, sled, cozy up to the fire, drink cocoa.

The snow is so glorious today. I didn't even mind putting gas in my car.

I grew up in Buffalo NY, and we had PLENTY of snowstorms and snow days!    My Dad always had puzzles and the occasional board game we'd get into.   He would get out the flour and yeast and make a crust  ...  and bake a pizza from scratch.   There was always hot cocoa.  When it's really bad outside, it feels great to stay inside and have fun.

That's my favorite wine. We are getting 12-18 inches today and through out the night. We are in MA close to the coast. Getting ocean effect snow too. I should get out before it starts. Stay safe.

@Shanus I'm in NC also. Didn't get one stinking snowflake.  My beagle puppy 🐶 is still waiting for her first snow day.
