I'm not understanding the issue with the Theater company. They don't own the venue, do they? If not, they are simply, in essence, contractors at the venue. Maybe they shouldn't have contracted a venue that wasn't accessible to you, but they can't do anything about the physical space where they did choose to stage their production.

@reiki604 They could add ramps and or platforms to allow for easier acess.

Yes they could add ramps or platforms.  I would think that wouldn't be too expensive to do.

How far is the seating area from the parking lot?  As someone else mentioned a few golf carts could help those who can't walk any distance.

But that is not the responsibility of the theatre company.  They are just renting the space.

@qbetzforreal Of course it is their responsibility to make the space avaible to all

[ Edited ]

@I am still oxox I'm in California and everything should be ADA compliant if it serves public. You have to state a reason, or they can close top you down. The theater  itself probably won't help you because of legal repercussions and liability if they do,  I don't know what state your in, but you might call the ADA board in you State, or better yet go online. Look at the laws.

I worked volunteered at Garlic Festival in our town.  We offered shuttles and such, and restrooms. But once they were in the needed to careful with their own walkers and such

same for the local museum, a Historic Carnegie Library, built in 1906.  We have these massive steps , I can't go up stairs now.  But, there is a lower basement door and museum will accommodate you at door, and being down any research materials you need. We also had a video of a museum tour made up to show anyone who couldn't get up stairs.  California worked with us to accommodate  handicap. We even made a tour to listen to for hearing impaired.  We did what we could as it was impossible and too expensive for City to put elevator in museum. .

none of this might not have been done as soon as it was if it wasn't for community disable people, a woman in a wheelchair, and a legally blind, and hearing impaired man!  They lobbied us, sooo nice , but firm. They moved mountains. And Anyone who has worked for a city will know, mountains don't move well, or fast without bulldozers, and a little TNT to egg them on!

I would call, or look into seeing that more people are able to visit the theater festival. be the bulldozer that moves the mountain a bit.

Re: ADA Compliance Rant a head

thinking more about your situation they ought to be able to make accommodations ilike that.  I can't tell you how many places make special accommodations for handicap to sit in walkers, wheelchairs and such at aisle ends where possible, or in special section. It is the law. Do they have exceptions. If they do, the exceptions shoukd be posted on website, or in front of theater

@qbetzforreal   I've rented space for public use,  and believe me, you research it and consult with the potential landlord and assure everything is in compliance before signing a lease.  If it's not, you keep looking.

Re: ADA Compliance Rant a head

Looking at the map @THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes posted in message #34 it appears the greenhouse is only a few 100 feet from the parking lot.

The problem appears to be that it is not a level terrain. There is uneven ground (what should they do about that?) and then gravel. They caution of uneven bricks inside. No assigned seating. First come, first seat choice. They seem extremely forthcoming on what challenges the venue poses.

I don't see ramps or platforms as being a viable option. Would golf carts be practical for that short a distance?

To my way of thinking, not necessarily inaccessible, just requiring an abundance of caution and a very early arrival.
