I think OP is referring to AAA's insurance products, not the club membership.

Spoiler

I have very fast, efficient roadside service as part of my auto insurance with USAA.  The last time I called, they were at my house within 5 minutes.  I asked the guy if he was stalking me.

We recently had a car problem and called for a jump start. We were told a 50(!!) minute wait.

Called a friend w/ a towing service, etc. He was there in about 10 minutes. Jump started us and followed us home. We submitted a claim but so far have not heard if claim has been paid. We were disappointed in the 3A's response time.

I am embarrassed to say, but I have it tied to my credit card so that it auto renews each year. I honestly can't remember what I paid and it was just this past September.

I don't know why I keep it. I have roadside assistance with my car insurance.

If you're talking about AAA's auto insurance, their premiums were the highest I got quoted when I looked for car insurance a few years back. The lowest price they would offer me was $240 a month. Geico came in at $80 a month. I went with Geico.

Re: AAA Coverage Question

[ Edited ]

@beach-mom @If your talking about roadside assistance, the price can vary depending on what you include. If you include 100 mile towing, more than one member, flat bed towing; you can pay more. Ours went up, but it wasn't $100 more. I'm not sure how much it was. The prices also vary by which AAA club you belong to. There are different clubs in different regions of the country. There are different charges to add on family members too.
