One shot can't kill a crowd.

What ten year old is going to stand behind a man assaulting someone?

If it were actually an assault and you or your child were the victim, you may feel differently.

That's the scary thing about gun owners.  They are just itching for the opportunity to use one and they aren't as skilled as they claim to be.

No way would I get between anyone fighting!  One of them could pull a gun on me.  I would call the police.  I noted that 2 people jumped in.  At least they have brains not to try to stop them with one person.

@151949  Was the woman screaming for help?

If not, that may be why so few people stopped.

She was yelling for him to let go of her and she was struggling to get away from him. He was holding her down and appeared to be hitting her - of course he wasn't really , they are actors.

  Some people like to fight.

If she wasn't screaming and asking for help from passersby, that's probably why people ignored the situation.

I'm curious to know what town this was in.  If it's NYC or LA or Atlanta, there is so much tv  production around that I honestly would have passed it by too thinking they were filming something which is exactly what they were doing.

i asked earlier if someone could supply the video or at least an article regarding this incident. i have not been able to find anything online and would be interested in seeing and/or reading about it.

What's wrong with generalizations is they are just wrong. How can you possibly know gun owners are 'itching' to use them? Have you any idea how many citizens own guns or how many citizens have saved themselves or others. Are you aware that fellow posters are responsible gun owners?

@occasionalrain

you yourself stated this:

"That's why we should go about armed. If it was a Stand Your Ground state, I would have shot him."

it really does sound like you would have shot first and asked quiestions later......

also, not every responsible gun owner would shoot a bullet into a public area, especially a PARK.

Probably at least once a week I read about someone who tried to stop a beating and gets stabbed or shot to death.

That last one was that 21 year old Marine, happened just as I said.

Call 911, keep watch perhaps, but don't jump in.  I probably would jump in for a child, though.
