Re: A squirrel drunk on fermented pumpkins

Didn't look at the video either after the replies. I have seen squirrels appear drunk after eating certain flower bulbs--daffodils or tulips.

Aw, if that happened in my yard a hawk or owl would probably have gotten the poor little thing. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Oh, the poor little thing. We feed the squirrels and chipmunks sunflower seeds and peanuts. I hate to see one who is sick like that. That makes him so vulnerable. I didn't find it funny either.

Funny? Not in my book! We have squirrels in our backyard and have never seen this behavior. It appears to be animal abuse to me. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

We have squirrels, too, and ours have never acted like that. My first thought was that someone did something to the little guy. Not funny at all. {#emotions_dlg.crying}

I agree with you both. Watching that made me sad. The poor thing was completely disoriented. Those people that filmed it while laughing the whole time are just cruel. If they know their pumpkins are fermented, why leave them out where squirrels or other animals could eat them, get sick or even die. I don't have patience for those type of people that take amusement in the suffering of animals. Just mean-spirited. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}
