I'm sure the ignorant person who posted that gem on Amy's blog would be horrified if someone called her belief system a "cult".

It's sad that people don't take the time to learn about other beliefs and instead form their opinions based on ignorance.  They condemn what they don't understand.

I agree with you and would add I hardly think the followers can be called a cult since they predate established religion.

A little off the subject but here children wore red strings during heart month.  We wear red items to show support for the heart and red on Fridays to show support for our troops.  We may be unhappy with Washington but we show support for those who have signed up to protect us.  You will still see a yellow ribbon on a tree.  Colored ribbons and strings for all the various kinds of cancer.  My 8 year old grandson loves to wear the string bracelet he received from his summer counselor.   I had forgotten about the original story behind the red ribbon and will pass it on.  I have enjoyed this forum.

      I actually wondered about those  red "bracelets" too!   I see them on many women I see on TV!  And I also thought they were associated to "heart" health!   At work, we wore something red on February 5th - National Heart Awareness Day!!

i am surprised the comment was left up, unless Amy wants it there (she may reply back). I think of singer Madonna wearing one. It seemed like many stars were wearing them at one time.
