Mine is a 2005. My kids often say "Mom, why don't you.........". BECAUSE I LOVE MY CAR THAT'S WHY.

@Mz iMac When I first looked at the photo of your "new" car button, I thought it was probably some sort of timer for your lights. ![]()
Now that you explain it is your dashboard dimmer, it makes sense. How nice. Now that I think of it, on my new car I think I tried to figure out how to dim and brighten, but now I don't remember. My old car was SO easy. Just turn the little knob but the new car is different.
I like a bright dashboard. Congratulations on your newly found car feature. Maybe it'll now come in handy and you won't know how you lived w/o it these past couple of years. ![]()

LOL...I love this thread...It's good to know that I'm not the only one who has had a car long enough to surely know all of its features...yet I still find myself discovering amazing "mysteries" that suddenly appear.

I bought my 2012 Honda Civic in 2015 - and never read the manual. I still don't know how to use the radio, put on flashing lights, etc.

@Lucky Charm My Ford has park assist. The salesman said he would show me how it works & never did.
My son tried to do it in a shopping center and couldn't work it. It has two options, one is parallel parking, the other is backing in a space. HA ! He just backed in. I think he pushed the wrong one.
I don't trust it to not hit another car!

I have you all beat. My car was made in the last century, and I've read the whole manual, twice.
Still have to look up how to reset the clock when Daylight Saving starts or ends. ![]()

This would have been my first inclination, not trusting it. BUT these new vehicles have radars all over the place to detect what's in front, what's in back, what's passing you on the sides, so I think I would give it a shot. However, I would not on the first try use it to park on a well packed city street where the cars are really crammed up against each other. I'd try it on a lesser known side street. Or on the outskirts of an expansive parking lot. I bet it would be FUN!!! I think once you got yourself familiar with the feature you'd really enjoy it.
