My father’s cousin died.  Not long after, his widow was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.  She had always been kind of prudish.  Anyway, she ultimately lived in kind of a nursing home-care place.  She also started dating one of the male residents.  She flirted a lot and hinted at kissing, etc.  He died after awhile and she found herself another beau.

I don’t think it’s uncommon for elderly people, even with dementia, to engage in such behavior.

You have a chatty extended family.  Nobody I know would share that kind of information with such a distant relative - you know, the sort of people who say she lived in a kind of/sort of place.

I think my father had a lot of cousins who died.  I know no details about how my father's cousins's widows carried on.

I'm not even sure how to punctuate such a connection, to be honest Smiley Happy

Having the residents engage in inappropriate behavior

is a sign the nursing home is not a quality facility.

My mother has been in a nursing home for the last 5yrs.

When I visit, it’s for a week at a time.

Never once have I seen a resident ‘flirt’, ‘kiss’ or ‘date’.

If a resident somehow started that behavior w/ my mother,

let’s just say all hell would break loose....and we would demand

that resident be removed from the facility.  If that resident is acting

that way with other residents, there’s a good chance it’s being

carried over to the staff, as well.

If @Noel7 story is true, man...that’s disgusting.
