Joints for jabs: Washington state allows dispensaries to offer free weed to those who get vaccinated

— It's a strange dichotomy. The humble joint is now being used in a war in support of drugs.

Marijuana dispensaries across Washington state are now able to give a free joint to anyone of legal age who gets a COVID-19 vaccine at an on-site clinic.

I think this is just going too far.... even if weed is legal in the state of Washington.

The state is moving further away from its original reason to encourage vaccinations, which was to keep people safe from COVID-19, and is now just being “idiotic

So, get a Covid vaccine, then get high. Sounds like a plan, though not sure if it's a good one. Whatever works, I guess.

Many people don't want and refuse the vaccine. You can see that by posts that have been on this board since the Pandemic started. I doubt these incentives will entice people who don't believe in it. The ones getting pot and guns,etc. are ones who would get the vaccine anyway.

@SeaMaiden I don't really disagree with you, but I assume Washington state voters had their say and approved dispensing fox marijuana without scripts for medical purposes. If so, the decision might be good - somehow I doubt non-users who have also been avoiding the vaccine are going t9 show up just to get one joint.

I get that the more people vaccinated the better but I'm not a fan of bribing the people that don't want to do it.

If they get the vaccine solely to get pot, free beer or win a lottery then their argument against it is BS.

Dollars to donuts some of the anti-vax people also the ones who bi*tched and stormed about wearing masks, berated those who did wear them, complained about not being able to get their hair cut or whatever, but did nothing to help mitigate the situation. They don't deserve to be rewarded for doing zip to help early on.
