I got an email this morning from "Netflix" saying that my

payment method had been rejected, and to please update

my account.

I  felt that was strange, so I went online to check my acct,

and everything seemed to be in order:  the credit card was

still valid, expiration date two years from now.

Sure enough, it was a phishing scam.

By calling Netflix, they told me right away, my account was

fine, and not to open anything (I hadn't).

The emal looked very legitimate with the Netflix logo intact.

I forwarded this to the Netflix phishing dept.

I got it too. Thing is, I have never used Netflix.

I got that same one but from Amazon. Said my renewal was rejected and please update my CC info.

Pfft, dummy phishers. I know my account renews at the beginning of the year, and not one order has been held up because of billing issues.

Sadly, so many people fall for these emails. Never ever click on the link and update anything. Just go directly to the place through your own web browser and look at your account if you feel something might need updating. NOT through any email.

I got an email today from "Amazon" letting me know that my order for a tower speaker and headset for a total of $1,015 is ready to be sent to Henry in New Jersey.

Even though I knew it was a scam I still immediately checked my Amazon account.
