Re: A Second Look at Richard Sherman

I see giving him a pass and acknowledging the use of "thug" as a code word as two different issues.

Sherman didn't come up with that idea, many of us already saw it in use.

Saw him on Piers Morgan, Piers totally defended him, made me see things differently.

I liked the way he described the recent hockey game where instead of playing, the minute the puck was thrown, the two teams started fighting!

He was right!!!

The way I see it is Sherman had a choice to be a gracious winner and bask in the glory with his team. He chose not to, and made a jerk of himself. You can rise above something or you can wallow in the mud. He chose to wallow. My definition of thug has nothing to do with a racist term as he would have you believe. Thuglike behavior was exhibited by Sherman, AND Richie Incognito is a thug, in my opinion. Sorry, but I don't give Sherman a pass for his immature, junior high behavior. It's a man's game; now act like one. No one else on either team behaved that way. It took away from the joy of the victory and the celebration of teamwork.

Holy karp...tell me you din't liken him to Incognito and call him thuglike.

Wow.

Anyone who compares Sherman to Incognito needs to give him a SECOND LOOK...No comparison whatsoever...

Much ado about nothing. Media-manufactured controversy going into the Superbowl because they had nothing else to harp on.

Not really media manufactured...he received thousands of hateful tweets and comments, calling him a thug. It didn't come from the media - it came from regular Joe people.

Re: A Second Look at Richard Sherman

I have to admit, he did look like a very, very angry "thug" (for lack of a better word) during that post-game interview. Again, had he controlled himself at that time, none of this would be an issue.
