Oh John, after 7 months that must've been very hard. I wouldn't be able to do it.

We fostered for 2 months. We took the dog back when it was time but I burst into tears, and the next morning called to say he was OUR'S. And we went back and picked him up. No more fostering for me.

Awww John, your post made me cry. Happy Birthday to Cindy, and it is both a very good day, although a sentimental day for your family. I know how much you and your wife love and care for animals, and you were both so kind and compassionate during the loss of my beloved Nook. I honestly don't know how you were able to find the strength to let Elise go after giving her so much love, but I know the intent was to find her a wonderful home. I hope she did find one half as loving as yours. You and Cindy are both such caring and wonderful people. Please give my best to her, hope her recovery is going well, and that even though bittersweet, she knows she gave Elise lots of love and sent her on the way to a new family. Blessings to you both, and your feline family. {#emotions_dlg.wub}
