Elise. This if for those that know and are interested in the Boxer my wife has been fostering for over 7 months and her future.

Was a good day and a bad day for my wife. It also just happens to be her birthday. With good news that made my wife happy it is also news that made her very sad. Anyone that has fostered any animal will understand how she feels about this. She dearly loves this dog and knew going into this that at some point they would have to part.

Today was that day and for any animal lover to separate feeling both happy and very sad I think will understand that is an impossibility in situations such as this even though one knows going into fostering that this time will come.

Just wanted to let those that know about this story with my wife, with a little fostering done by me also, how this story has a very happy ending for Elise.

I am so glad that she has found a forever home but at the same time I know how emotional this is for Cindy. Letting a foster go is hard but taking in a foster is such a wonderful thing for you and Cindy to have done!

Thank you to Cindy for taking on the challenge even though she knew her heart would eventually be hurting-

I'm a boxer mom and understand how your wife feels. Happy Birthday to Cindy and happy life for Elise. Please give your wife extra hugs today from this Boxer family. Buster, Cindy and John send you both the best. Elise is a beauty. Wish she was here with Buster (and us).

Fate whispers to her, "You cannot withstand the storm." She whispers back, "I am the storm."

I wasn't aware of your foster story before. Elise is a very lucky girl to have found her forever home and lucky to have had you both as foster parents. I've always wanted a dog (we have 2 cats) and thought I might like to foster but I'm not so sure I could handle it. It's certainly a bittersweet moment.

P.S. Happy Birthday to Mrs. hckynut!

It's wonderful you both put in a lot of time & effort with fostering & I'm sure it was very hard for her to see Elise go. Happy Birthday to your wife.

I have known some people who pretrain Seeing eye dogs from puppyhood until they go to the training school. They actually take the dog Everywhere with them - these dogs are allowed where pets are banned. At first the dogs can be petted and loved by anyone -- but in the later stages can not socialize when wearing their jackets. She said that it was very hard to give up the dog after all this -- but it was a good cause and I think she got another one to love and train.
