Re: A First For Me From Amazon

You only get a photo when Amazon themselves deliver your package. They delivered something I had sent to my son last week. The notice I got was it was delivered and handed it to customer on porch. Umm no. My son wasn't even home when they left it on his porch.

Re: A First For Me From Amazon

Sam's Club sends me an email saying my order has been delivered.

The first time I got their email, I read it about midnight. It said the time of delivery had been same day, about 10 hours earlier.

That package had sat outside in steady rain for 10 hours!

(To be clear, THEY sent the email at delivery time, I just didn't check emails until bedtime.)

My doofus Fed Ex driver had tossed the package where I'd never see it, rather than following the "Deliver to SIDE DOOR" instructions right in the address label.

I've never received an email, but I did observe the delivery person taking a photo of the package at my door.

@shaggygirl   I'm pretty sure that means that it was an Amazon truck that delivered it, not USPS, UPS or FedEx.  I think I've read about that on these boards.

@shaggygirl

I’ve only received a photo from Amazon once...maybe because the one I did receive was of my package on a doorstep I’d never seen before! LOL

yes  its a great idea!!  i saw my first pic almost a year ago... such a good idea, they need to make ALL drivers do this.. one time they told me it was delivered and i never got it.. i only have one door they could of left it at... i looked all around my property and nothing... i called and they did send me another one out... but this so such a good idea and it would clear up all of that mess if not getting it!!!  love it........  im editing my post  lol i just got a package delivered today and they took a pic  like i said i wish they always did this!!

Re: A First For Me From Amazon

I do get text immediately after they leave the package.  More often than not now, they leave the package on and sprint back to their car or truck and a few seconds later, I get the text.  I can see the front steps from my home office so it's amusing, I see the whole thing in real time.  They take a picture of the package with their cell phones but I have never received a copy of the picture.

I have never gotten that as of yesterday.

So Amazon is saying, "Here's your photo it's been delivered.  Too bad if someone steals it off your porch".

Strange, I think.

I get a text that they left package so it's really a matter of  Amazon saying "we left the package, now go and pick it up".  It's their way of curtailing people who claim they didn't get their delivery, when they really did.  It makes people who try to scam them stop and think.  Amazon has great customer service so if a customer says they didn't receive something, they still make it right.

I have never received a picture of a delivery but I have received e-mails.  I wonder if they are starting this in areas where "package pirates" are a problem?
