An e-mail saying my order was delivered and a photo of it sitting on my front porch. Maybe y'all get those all the time but it was my virgin notice with a photo so I got a little excited!

Re: A First For Me From Amazon

I don't order often from amazon, but haven't seen a picture.  I bet they get a lot of it never arrived emails.  Wonder if that means they won't replace an item if they have a picture proving it was there.

I have never gotten that as of yesterday.

So Amazon is saying, "Here's your photo it's been delivered.  Too bad if someone steals it off your porch".

Strange, I think.

Hi @shaggygirl  ... I have received a couple photos from Amazon of packages on my porch ... but it isn't done on a vast majority of my deliveries.

Re: A First For Me From Amazon

@GCR18I don't think it means Amazon won't replace it, but it may deter people who claim a package never arrived from submitting repeat complaints that their packages are not arriving when they really have.  Although I know personally know an Amazon customer who was told 3 times that her packages had been delivered when those packages were not at her front door.  I know this for a fact because her packages came to my door!  (And just recently her Ulta order arrived in my mailbox.)

I think lots of companies are looking for ways to make deliveries more secure and the picture is one of them.  As more and more of us add our own security cameras to our properties, maybe there will be less theft overall.  I'm hoping.

I rarely order from Amazon, maybe once or twice a year.

The last order I placed said delivered to porch. I don't have a porch. Never arrived. Seller never responded to inquiry. Finally Amazon issued a refund.

I think what I like about this is that sometimes delivery notices can be confusing.  I had a friend who received a delivery confirmation but couldn't find the package.  The note said something about delivery left on porch but it wasn't on the front or back porch.  She finally found it next to her detached garage that didn't have a porch so a picture of where it was left would have been most helpful.

Re: A First For Me From Amazon

We order a lot from Amazon and get deliveries several times a week.  For months now I've been getting notifications on my phone as to where my order is....how many stops away and once it's delivered a photo of it by my front door.

I heard once of an Amazon delivery sending the customer a photo of their package by the front door then the delivery person took it after taking the photo.  It was caught on the homeowner's camera.

I've been receiving those photos for a while now.  I also like the tracking map that shows where the truck is and how many stops there are between the truck and my house.

My first was a phone call from QVC last week.  On the day of the ETA, when my order was still "In Process," customer service called to apologize for the delay.  !!  My order arrived just a few days later.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

Re: A First For Me From Amazon

I haven't received a photo yet and I'm thinking it not only proves the item was delivered, it proves the condition of the item when it was delivered.

If UPS or the post office delivers something to me that I've ordered from amazon, I don't have issues.  The couple of items that I've received items from what I consider uber delivery people, they have been jacked up.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.
