ITA! Stupid idea. Not surprising considering the channel it's on.

My Italian grandfather came to America when he was 5 with his mom...and became a US citizen.

He went back to choose a bride from the town he was from. He stayed a year, married my grandmother and brought her back to America.

MANY others have done the same.

Justr because ONE case turned out to be horrible - is no reason to deny thousands of others.

My grandparents came here from Armenia...times were soooooo much different then....we need to keep our loved ones, my grandchildren, as safe as we possibly can.....and right now that requires change of what once worked.....

ITA! NO comparison between the times THEN and the times NOW.

I know this will NOT be stopped for at least a year.

As a result of just that ONE visa, 14 people are dead and how many more are injured?

We should all admit there will be MORE.

Hyacinth-thank you for your posting.....no matter how people feel about immigration, we are living in a different world, and need to deal with immigration laws in a different way....we can't live in the past--it's not working.......what used to work isn't working any longer......

Me too!!! Just one son though. Also, it's not easy...you have to prove your relationship is legit.

My nan was an English war bride. It took some wrangling for her to come to the States after they married.

ABC News is reporting that the terrorist wife got her visa using a fake address.  There is no such location.  Drudge has a stack of headlines about this attack that are positively terrifying.

As for that reality show, the people don't seem to know each other hardly at all.  Ninety days is not long enough for them to decide yes or no on marriage.  It is very sordid to watch at times.

My mother-in-law was an immigrant from Ukraine.  She met my father-in-law in a camp during WW2.  Her sister also married an American military men.

These ladies were a credit to immigration.

Today is just NOT the same.  We all must face that fact.

I will say, for us the interview was very easy.

Of course, it may have been because between the time DH got his green card, and the time he applied for citizenship, a number of years had passed.  I think the wedding pictures - as well as the six birth certificates (with pictures of DH's mini-me's) convinced the interviewer that the relationship was real.

Do the math.

Armenia?  Did they flee the genocide.  There were some hard times there . . .

Do the math.

My first husband was also from another country. He was a fine man and owned a successful business here in the USA. He was an asset to this country, as are most people who immigrate here looking for better opportunities.
