For those having trouble seeing it, I believe this
is called ‘negative space’. An optical illusion.
Here are several famous negative space illustrations.
Even corporations use it...
Do you see a young woman or an old woman?
A man playing a saxophone or a woman?
A vase or 2 men facing each other?

I didn't notice that '8' until just now. It's the negative space that the mind finds hard to see.

I get the gist of it, but sure don't "see" an 8. And why the eight of diamonds - they're all the same

Ooh I'm correcting myself. I do see it now and the shape of the diamonds makes the rounded edges of the eight.
