I used to wear Chanel No 19, but I would not describe it as spicy.  

However, scent is so personal.  I cannot remember what it smelled like now, so it might very well have been spicy.

@I am still oxox #5 was my mother's favorite!  I hope you will get it and really, really enjoy it.  I always liked #19 but now I like Coco better.  All are nice but different.

@I am still oxox  ...... Wanted to wish a fellow Aquarius an early Happy Birthday! I can't help you on the Chanel #5 as it is not a favorite of mine. It is too strong a perfume for me. I prefer Ester Lauder (Beautiful or Knowing). Hope you have a very happy 65th birthday!

I smiled when I read your post...as a young woman I always thought Chanel #5 was an elegant lady’s fragrance. Some years later I received a bottle as a gift ... I was so surprised... and I kind of felt like I had ‘arrived’... haha!

My winter fragrance is Coco Mademoiselle. Love it! Enjoy your fragrance and enjoy your year!
