Kennedy was the last (of four) presidents to be assisinated while in office.
'Boys' were sent off to war by his successor LBJ.
Two thirds were volunteers going to Vietnam. (That ration blows my mind.) I'd always thought that they were all drafted!
WWII, many more were drafted and a little over a third volunteered. The casualties were horrific, (over 400,000! volunteer and draftees).
Our (if you're of European descent) history, in the US, 'cruelty' really started after we landed....not when Kennedy was assassinated. jmoyvmv
