The other daughter is speaking of a young man who is a missionary abroad and she has been speaking with him via Skype for some time with her parents' permission. It's quite possible to fall in love with someone over the internet. People do it all the time.

They did chaperone her skype conversations. The preview clip is just to make viewers curious about the details and get them thinking one of the daughters has "strayed". In reality, this young man was known to JimBob just like the other girl's boyfriend.
