Ellen should replace David Letterman

I'd love to see her as his replacement.

I like Ellen but HATE her afternoon show!!! The format is terrible. Didn't like her at the Academy Awards this year.

i have been seeing a lot of tweets regarding this on twitter.....seems like there are a lot of people who would love to see her move into the position.

I like her but she's too saccharine to be a good late night fit.

She was awful as a presenter at the AA's this year.

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.

I think she is probably more popular with female viewers than male viewers and late night is more slanted toward the male viewer..

Interesting point.

I would love to see her have that slot as well but her show might not transfer well to late night? I don't know but she is very entertaining.

Re: Ellen should replace David Letterman

I like Ellen, but I don't watch her afternoon show and I would not watch any night show because I already do not watch them . . . I simply can't stay awake that long. I'm lucky if I catch the news at 11 and have been missing my 10 pm shows, or half of them, for months now. So I can't comment on who would be good in a nighttime slot.

My suspicion is that any woman would not do well at night, but I could be very wrong.

Re: Ellen should replace David Letterman

I think Ellen is better in the format she has created for herself. I can't picture her just sitting in Dave's chair and not doing her usual pranks and dancing.

Same with Steve Harvey, I think he is very funny but on his own show. He wouldn't fit in that format either.

I think they need a comedian that can sit there and be funny plus be a good host. Trouble is most of them are getting older too. I can't think of any younger ones that would be that good. There are a lot of good actors that are funny but they wouldn't give up their day job!

I would like to see guest hosts that they have done in the past with other shows like Leno and Regis and Kelly. Let's see who would be a good fit. Certainly not Conan or Arsenio. I think it would be a riot to have Leno come in once and guest host. Many would turn in for those tv ratings.
