You better be ready to change laws and ban knives, swords and the like because these savages lop heads off or has that escaped you? These cretins are pure evil and changing how we live is not the answer.

I agree. I have two nephews and a niece in the IDF. The gun laws in Israel are stricter there then here. But that has done little to deter terrorist.

Re: 11 Dead In Paris Terror Attack!

Sadly terrorists do not need guns in order to terrorize the public. The whole idea behind terrorism is to make the public feel threatened at every corner and to pretty much immobilize anyone because of the fear. They want to strike fear in the heart of every person out there who does not conform to their beliefs.

Yes guns do kill but so do poisons, knives, bombs, bacterial strains and so on and so forth. This whole terroristic scenario is happening more and more and the terrorists ultimate goal is to have all of us trembling in our shoes.

My heart goes out to all who have been a victim of terrorism.

This has more to do with the Government of France and how it handles terrorism and those that would kill innocent people. As wonderful as it is that the world has gotten small the darker side of that and its backlash can not be swept under the carpet. France recognizing known hot beds for terrorist to hide and conduct business as sovereign states has done more to advance acts like this. Their foil has come back to mock them and it is unfortunate that once again innocent people pay the price.

Today's terrorist have no qualms about using other methods to carry out their destruction this should not be a debate about Gun control. This should be a debate about stopping them in their tracks.

Ditto this.

As for the poster who said it would happen here, it already has - 9-11.

For the poster who believes the weapons used if found will say Made In USA, there's also Russia, Israel, and other Asian countries that are manufacturing firearms. Not just the
USA.

Watching the videos of what was captured by these gunmen, they don't seem like homegrown, garage club house guys. They appear like professional hired hit men. Not too much like the religious terror bunch that they are leading others to believe and what we are being led to believe. There's a money trail somewhere. MY take.

Yep. Professionally trained.

Re: 11 Dead In Paris Terror Attack!

Terrorism has been going on forever! Europe is certainly used to it. When I was studying in Vienna 25 years ago, there were threats against Americans and we were given updates by the USIA on a regular basis. I checked in for a flight from Munich to JFK under armed military escort. Have you ever been at check in at the airport with a soldier holding a machine gun and watching every move right next to you? When we boarded our flight, German soldiers were stationed throughout the aircraft watching us board. I traveled on trains in Italy where soldiers with dogs would make the rounds periodically at different stops and question us. I was in a Berlin club with two American airmen (friends) who were threatened and got into a fight with two Middle Eastern guys. Several.months later, that same club was bombed and several Americans killed. My point is, most Americans seem.to have become aware of terrorism after 9/11. Other countries have been dealing with it for decades. This is nothing new for them.

Of course, but I think this latest brand of extremism is quite different from anything in the past. ISIS is moving FAST, all across the globe and their mission is world domination. Other terrorist attacks in the past haven't been as professionally organized as this bunch, IMO.

There have always been folks who have a gripe with others and decide to act out, but then it dies down eventually. This movement will not die down anytime soon.

professionally trained...............probably........BUT they spoke perfect French without an accent.........in other words.........they were home grown...............parts of France where Muslims live are governed by the Muslims, not the French government...........they are considered, "no go" zones..............and we would be naive to believe the same thing couldn't happen again here...............those planes that were used as a WOMD weren't hijacked in another country, but HERE...............................................raven

I grew up in England with the constant threat of IRA attacks (they bombed my home town on Mother's Day). Europeans just grit their teeth and get on with it, without thinking the sky is falling and that Mom needs to come and fix it all for them.

Let's see how well this attitude serves them now. If they think they'll just be able to grin and bear it until it eventually dies down then IMO, they're in for a rude awakening.
