@beckyb1012 I loved her writing style. You must be a mind reader - I selected The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for my next read. Starting it today! I would love to hear your thoughts.

@Lilysmom I'm sorry you're under the weather. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm also reading a book that might not be a good idea right now and it's a book I've read before, Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. She has a new book coming out in March, The Glass Hotel, and for some reason I decided to reread this one. It's about the Georgian flu that becomes an epidemic and wipes out 99% of humanity. I loved it the first time and love it again now. It jumps around in characters and timelines and I'm usually not a fan, but this is so well written, and I love how she is able to connect everything. She's a brilliant writer and I'm hoping her new book is as good. It's been six years since Station Eleven was published.

I breezed right through it but wanted to read it slowly since she does not have many books out yet. Could not help but read in only two morning exercise bike rides it was so good. I wish I was starting it today @Starlagirl . In case you did not know Reese Witherspoon liked Daisy so much it will be one of her productions soon. Casting as already taken place.

I just finished The Confession Club by Elizabeth Berg, I loved it! Full of memorable characters some with serious dilemmas they are facing but are surrounded by the love of friends! It was just a feel good book!

This is probably one of my favorite reads in the last year. I really hope Hugo has more books in store for us.

I just finished If You Tell, by Gregg Olsen. It was one of the most disturbing true crime books I've read so far.
I'm currently reading The Maid's Secret, by Emily Organ and The Queen of Black Hollywood, by Jenifer Lewis.
The Maid's Secret is book 3 in the Penny Greene mystery series. Penny is a journalist in Victorian London and works with a police inspector to solve crimes. Most of the series is available through Kindle Unlimited and I believe I got my first one, which may have been book 8, free through Freebooksy and Amazon.
The Queen of Black Hollywood is Jenifer Lewis's memoir. I just started it over lunch today and she's talking about how she got the role of Ruby on Black-ish, one of my favorite shows. This one I'm listening to on Audible because I just love listening to Jenifer Lewis. She could read the phone book and make it sound interesting.

@abbalulu, thanks for the comments about the quilt! Now I am itching to get in the garden and on Sunday, which is March 1, we are getting 20 cm of snow. In like a lion, out like a lamb, right???
I am enjoying The Stand although it has taken me a bit to get into it. LM

@house_cat wrote:I'm reading "American Dirt", by Jeanine Cummins, simply because I heard there was a controversy surrounding it. I'm 25% through the book and so far it's excellent, but I'm still not clear on why it's controversial.
I recently finished American Dirt and I could not figure it out either. A friend of mine told me it was because the writer was not an immigrant but that really doesn't make sense to me since it is a novel. The writer addresses some of the controversy in the Acknowledgements at the end of the book.

I just finished Hide by Lisa Gardner, I think @CANDLEQUEEN had highlighted this book not to long ago! This book was filled with action and just when I thought I had figured it all, Bam something happens I never saw coming, after reading this one I have to read something not so action packed, I think a Christmas book will do the trick!
