Sue Grafton wasn't only a wonderful author with her alphabet series with Kinsey Millhone, she was a very warm person. She frequently responded to fans on her Facebook page - me included! I was thrilled - not only was that a first for me, but her reply was so warm and personal. I've read and reread all of the books, and enjoy each of them all over again! If you're just starting the series, I hope you love reading how Kinsey "grows" with each new book - yet she always maintains that same spunkiness! I always loved how she enjoyed her Chardonnay, Mickey D's double cheeseburgers and her one and only little black polyester dress that she used for every dressy occasion!

I believe the Z book will appear at some point.

I have absolutely loved the series, and her other writings as well, including some of her quite intense and searing memoirs of her troubled youth in a dysfunctional family.

The thing I loved about the "Kinsey Milhone" books is that there was no "falling off" after the first few books-- if anything, the books became even richer and more compelling as they went on.  It's probably my favorite detective fiction of all time, up there along with that of P.D. James....

Her daughter has made a public statement that it will not. She firmly stated that "the alphabet ends now ends at Y." Without her permission, it's very unlikely that there will ever be a Z.

Re: Sue Grafton

[ Edited ]

I will always miss Sue Grafton. I loved her novels and always could not wait until the next Kinsey Millhone book hit the shelves. I knew how old she was and sometimes worried that she just might not make it through the whole alphabet. Sadly she did not. But I was totally shocked when she died. I did not know she was sick.

I used to look at her website and she loved cats and so do I. My DH passed away from cancer not too long ago. Not sure exactly how close their deaths were as I was so busy taking care of my husband. I am trying to find new writers as those I love besides Sue Grafton only write about one book a year.

Edited: I see Sue Grafton died somewhere around 12/2017. My DH passed in September 2017 and I was overwhelmed at that time so did not remember the date of her death.
