Is there a FREE on line source for Book Summaries.

I can find recommended questions for bllk clubs but would like a source for the "cliff notes" Spark Notes require fee.

I'd like one that lists all the characters in the book with a two sentence biography on them. The Agatha Christie paperbacks I read in the 1970's did that and it sure helped.
